Cary Granat

Dean, Moody College of Communication · University of Texas at Austin

“The world is at a dangerous low in the efficacy and trust of information and communication in all forms.”

From his personal statement for The Vine.

I recently left the world of industry to devote my life to the world of education, research, and helping to build the next generation of leaders as the new Dean of the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin.

The Moody College has top-ranked schools in film and television, journalism, communication, marketing and PR, leadership, and medical fields (speech, language, hearing, dementia). Having the chance to bring 30 years of industry and research partnerships to Moody is one of the most exciting challenges I have ever taken on.

The thousands of students we serve daily are extremely bright and are the hope for change and innovation going forward.

The students we serve daily are the hope for change and innovation going forward.

The world is at a dangerous low in the efficacy and trust of information and communication in all forms. Thus, sitting in the center of the top-ranked College of Communication gives me the opportunity to help bring new reliable forms back to the world. I look forward to collaborating with all Vine members in this important mission.
